I’ve been searching for a solution for my two teenage sons who were quickly outgrowing their standard twin bunks, and this Full XL over Queen floor bunk bed is a total game-changer. It is incredibly hard to find this specific size configuration, and it fits our needs perfectly. The Queen base is a lifesaver-it’s spacious enough for my oldest to actually be comfortable, and the Full XL on top provides that much-needed extra length so my younger son’s feet aren’t hanging off the edge. What I love most is the floor design. Because the bottom bunk sits low, the whole unit feels much more stable and grounded than traditional high bunks. There is zero “wobble” factor when they’re moving around. The guardrails on the top bunk are high and sturdy, giving me peace of mind, and the ladder is angled just right so it doesn’t hurt your feet to climb.Assembly took about two and a half hours with two of us working on it. The instructions were straightforward, and all the hardware was clearly labeled. Once tightened down, the frame is solid and surprisingly quiet-no annoying squeaking when someone shifts in their sleep. If you’re trying to maximize a smaller room for older kids or even a guest room, this is the way to go.
